Field Service Engineer

We are seeking two highly skilled Field Service Engineers to join our team in the Aberdeen area. These roles involve providing expert technical support, maintenance, and repair services for marine and offshore equipment and systems at onshore facilities, ports, and client sites. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of a wide range of marine and offshore machinery, including engines, propulsion systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on marine and power generation equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
  • Provide technical support to customers, troubleshooting issues both remotely and on-site.
  • Perform scheduled servicing and emergency repairs on vessels, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to effectively diagnose and resolve faults.
  • Work closely with customers, providing technical advice and recommendations for equipment upgrades or improvements.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with our ISO accreditations and within the health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, documentation, and recommendations after site visits.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to source parts and technical information.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of marine engineering technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Marine or offshore engineering, field service, or a similar technical role (minimum 3-5 years).
  • A degree, HND, or apprenticeship in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, Industrial engines, propulsion systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Willingness to travel within the Aberdeen region and further afield as required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid offshore certification (desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations in the marine offshore and power generation industry.
