The Bartech mission is to provide safety through mechanical excellence, helping our clients to build sustainable and ethical revenue streams by reducing downtime, and supporting local economies to thrive.
We strive for environmental sustainability in everything we do, and the work we do with our clients, all over the world, in the oil and gas, marine and power generation sectors is designed to ensure their critical engines perform to their optimum, reducing emissions and pollution as much as possible.
Closer to home, in the last few years we established a second base for the business in Aberdeen, reducing travel time and the environmental footprint that leaves.
With a flexible working policy at Bartech HQ, we’ve committed to reducing the number of miles our team are required to travel, whilst employing a comprehensive recycling programme and waste management.
We’re also committed to sustainable sourcing, and our ability to re-machine and redeploy parts helps us reduce waste and the impact on the environment.
Community is at the heart of everything we do here at Bartech, and we aim to have a significant impact wherever we can, whether it’s close to home, or thousands of miles around the world.
As signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, and participants in the Defence Employers Recognition Scheme, we’re active in supporting our defence and armed forces, and in providing pathways for ex-military personnel.
We also partner with both South Essex College and the Colchester Institute, participate in Careers Fairs and STEM days, as well as offering school tours to Bartech HQ in Colchester.
Further from home, we also provide training for engineers in Angola, as part of our commitment to upskilling the entire industry.
We invite our stakeholders, customers, and community members to join us in our CSR efforts.

“We have a long term service agreement with Bartech so putting together the work scope was made easy as we have worked with them in the past and know how they work in a professional matter.
All the organisation and spares were taken care of by the project engineer, once this was ready Bartech and CNR had a conference call with the platform to discuss the scope and iron out any issues that may arise during the scope and controls were put in place to prevent issues arising.”
“Please pass on my thanks to your team for the fantastic effort in getting this rearranged visit complete.
We had constraints on labour and lead time of equipment however all went seamlessly.
Please also pass this on to Matt and William and thank them for their workmanship whilst offshore, very much appreciated by all here at Fairfield.”
“A genuine open and honest customer focused approach.
A willingness to evolve and support ongoing learning (both ways) when things may not quite go as planned or expected. Whilst the whole Bartech team are focused and engaged Rob Lee has proved to be a pivotal contact point for EDF addressing and resolving concerns that may arise.”
“Thanks for the help, and the fact that you were able to keep your promises regarding delivery time etc.
“When a fault was found with the water cooler adaptor plate, a new part was sourced and sent out to the platform the following day. This meant the crane could be returned to service as planned and therefore no downtime experienced.”
“The technical knowledge and speed of sourcing the required part. The platform also commented positively on the work ethic of the engineer on the job.”
“Bartech’s work ethic permeates through the organization, from Rob Lee the Bartech Project & Commercial Manager through to the technicians overhauling, testing, installing and commissioning the engines.
The communication is exactly what we expect from a supplier of products and services delivered to us here at Hartlepool PowerStation from weekly updates to overhaul documentation showing exactly where they are in the sequence of work.
It is excellent to see and sets a standard most do not achieve.”
