Caterpillar 3516 Engine Parts Supply and Overhaul

Read more on how we helped this client below and discover how we can help you too...

Background

This offshore client required an overhaul of their fire pump engine, a Caterpillar 3516 engine. They requested Bartech manage this project, supplying the required spares and engineers to complete the work scope.

Solution

Work scope and action plan were developed and agreed with the client. Against this plan, the spares were delivered and engineers mobilised to complete the work scope. All spares supplied were purchased through the OEM, though when the test certification for the exchange heads was requested, it was discovered that the OEM does not pressure test individual heads. Bartech was told that these were under warranty, so if they leaked then a replacement would be supplied. We knew this would not be acceptable to this client so conducted our own independent tests on the core assemblies to give our client and us peace of mind.

Outcome

The project was successfully completed within the 14-day window with Bartech and OEM engineers working together on the platform.
