We’re currently working on a Woodward SGX governor, responding to an operator struggling to start their Detroit 8V71 engine.
Andy has conducted his initial inspection and identified some concerning damage during the strip-down phase.
These issues prevented the pump gear from spinning, meaning there was no oil pressure in the governor, causing the starting issues.
Moving forward, there are now 3 options for the operator, and we are awaiting their decision:
- Repair the governor
- Replace the governor for another SGX governor
- Upgrade to a PSG governor
We understand the pain these operational disruptions cause, so please get in touch if you need our assistance.
