Paxman 12RPH Engine

Bartech Complete Paxman Overhauls In Italy

Engines

05/15/2013

A team of Bartech engineers has just returned to the UK, having completed the overhaul of two Paxman 12RPH Mk7 engines on-board a luxury yacht in Trieste Port, Italy.

The work scope included replacement of cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, cambox, turbochargers, pistons, connecting rods and bearing blocks. To provide a quicker turnaround for the client and minimizing the time in port, two engine sets of spares were prepared in our UK workshop and sent to the vessel on a service exchange plan.

Despite some logistical challenges caused by adverse weather across Europe, the overhaul of the engines was completed ahead of the plan, and we rectified the leaks and smoking problems the client was experiencing. Following the success of this project we are excited to be invited to work with the client on some further engine projects.
