When it comes to engine reliability, thorough inspection and meticulous processes are essential.
A recent case with a Cummins K-19 rocker arm highlighted just how crucial this is.
During our in-depth inspection, we found a blocked oil feed hole in the injector plunger rocker—something that could have led to excessive wear on the rocker cup and plunger ball, causing unnecessary damage and downtime.
This issue was not immediately visible and was only identified when we blew compressed air through each rocker during our cleaning process.
It’s important to note that the entire engine had been fully dismantled and inspected to ensure there were no other underlying concerns.
This isn’t just about spotting one issue—it’s about ensuring complete engine reliability before it goes back into operation.
At Bartech, we leave no stone unturned—are these critical checks being carried out on your engines?
