As you know, the pandemic has stopped the majority of travel across the world, which means it’s not been “business as usual” for at least the last 12 months.
For us, the result has been that we’ve had to be flexible and find workarounds to enable our operators to continue their business with minimal downtime on their engines.
One recent example of this is with a superyacht operator based in Italy.
Their Paxman 12RPH MK7 engine is due for routine maintenance and inspection, but that’ll have to wait until the restrictions ease.
In the meantime, we’ve devised another way to ensure they have everything they need to hand should any issues occur with the engine.
After discussions with the engineers on board to establish the current condition of the engine and the parts they have in stock, we’ve arranged for a full package of critical spares to be sent to them.
This will ensure the engine can be maintained in the meantime, with minimal cost and downtime to the operator.
Some of the spares we are sending include:
- Cylinder heads
- Cylinder liners
- Pistons
- Gudgeon Pins
- Piston Rings + Springs
- Bearing Shells
- Sleeves
- Bellows
- Turbocharger
- Washers
- Fuel Filter Element
- Seals
- Elastic Link Assemblies
- Uniball Joints
We’re also providing injector assembly overhauls on injectors they are sending back to us.
So my message today is simple: this type of solution is available.
You do not have to wait until restrictions have eased and hope all goes well in the meantime – with careful consideration and planning we can ensure you have the technical advice (via email and telephone) and the parts on hand should your engine need it.
