Caterpillar 3412 Cooling system swap-1(1)

Caterpillar Engine Conversion

We are working on converting a Caterpillar 3412 engine at present for an operator.

The engine is currently heat exchanger cooled which is not compatible with the operator’s set-up, so it’s been sent to Bartech HQ in Colchester where we are converting it to radiator cooled.

The original exhaust manifold outlet had deteriorated due to age and the possibility that fresh water had been used in the system in place of coolant.

With the use of Belzona, a full repair has been possible, negating the need to purchase a replacement manifold. O-rings will also be replaced as standard.

I am sharing this information as you may have some components or even an engine that you just cannot use in its current configuration.

If you would like to know if it can be adapted for use in your operation, please get in touch and we’ll let you know.
