Recent UVDB audit

Posted on April 5, 2018 in Highlighted, News | Comments Off on Recent UVDB audit

If you haven’t been part of an audit, you may have missed out on being involved with systems that can help reduce problems.

Last week we were audited by an external organisation – UDVB – a requirement for the main utility companies in the UK, and there were two procedures they were particularly interested in.

I have seen these commonly neglected by many operators & managers, despite them being vital in maintaining operations in certain circumstances:

  1. Contingency planning – What happens if there’s a major failure that will stop you operating? Who takes responsibility? How quickly can you get operational again? (& many more key questions answered!)
  2. Feedback policy – Structured processes so anyone can highlight things that are going well, ideas for changes & safely raise concerns, which could be affecting individuals.

For me, this is just as important as celebrating the many successes as well as giving people a route to deal with difficult problems.

Although I know you’ll understand the benefits, there’s a difference between understanding them & implementing them into your company.

I’d be interested how you deal with these.

We were successful with our UDVB audit and can add that to our FPal verification! See our certificates below
