UK Trade Mission, Lessons from Brazil

Last week, I was part of a UK Trade Mission in Brazil, in temperatures up to 40°C.
And as I write this, I’m in distinctly damp, colder, Essex.
Oh well!
I was in Rio, and as part of the UK trade mission, reviewed some opportunities for engine support for this expanding market.
As you’d expect, there were plenty of presentations and meetings, lots of people to see and business cards swapped.
But in amongst it all, there was one key focus and one consistent theme:
The major operators are all looking for INNOVATION.
It’s a pretty established market that we all operate in, so there are already companies looking after the various applications of diesel engines, but on top of the safety and environmental priorities, there’s definitely a real sense that the major operators are looking for three additional things:
- Improved Efficiency
- Better Reliability
- Cost Reductions
And here’s an obvious statement, but one that we maybe don’t recognise enough: none of those things will happen by doing the same thing over and over again.
They all require movement.
So whether it’s by new methods, new ideas or new products, innovation can only happen when you embrace something new and something different.
As you can imagine, it was a pretty fascinating trip from our perspective, as new ideas processes and technology are what we’re really all about – we’re dedicated to providing them to organisations like yours, helping you to meet the increased demands of your industry.
Some recent examples of how we’ve done just that include:
- Introduction of performance monitoring systems
- Installation of pre-heat systems
- Equipment re-engineering
I’ve put together some more information on how these initiatives could help you, click HERE to check it out now.
